The MeatOrganic Beef The cattle are sired by one of our pure-bred Aberdeen Angus Bulls. There is no intensive fattening. They live in a natural herd size, and lead an unstressed life, sharing the same grazing as the sheep. Organic Lamb Our organically reared Lleyn, Suffolk Cross, and Texel graze on the richly varied pasture and clover surrounding Swanton Novers National Nature Reserve, and on the lush meadows of the river Stiffkey. Organic Poultry Our free-range chickens, turkeys and geese (for Christmas), have plenty of our own organic vegetables and corn to eat. Organic Pork Peter Melchett's farm at Ringstead supplies the butchery with organic pork and bacon. Bacon The renowned Emmett's of Peasenhall, Suffolk provide us with bacon from locally reared free-range pigs; Peter Melchett supplies our organic bacon.
