No pesticides, chemical fertilisers, or herbicides are used on the farm. All our arable fields are surrounded by six metre margins, which are good nesting grounds and wildlife corridors.

We look after over three hundred acres of ancient woodland, still coppicing it, and maintaining biodiversity through the creation of different habitats.

The national nature reserve is home to many rare species, including honey buzzards in the summer.

The shop and the house next door to it are heated by a 160kw woodchip boiler. In time this should provide enough energy to meet the heating and hot water demands of an exercise studio, cafe and extended store too.
